Masonic Memorial Service for R⸫W⸫ Gary Lyndon Smith, Sr.

Memorial Service will be at Mount Dora Lodge No 238 on April 5th, 2023 at 6:30pm.

Brethren are requested to be at the Lodge at no later than 6:00pm.

Right Worshipful Gary Lyndon Smith, Sr was initiated an Entered Apprentice on May 12th 1961, Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on June 23rd 1961 and was Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on July 28th 1961 in South Knoxville Lodge Number 769 in the Grand Lodge of Tennessee. He affiliated with Mount Dora 238, September 4th, 2003 where he completed the Lodge Officers Training Courses 1, 2 and 3 on November 26th 2004 and began while he was Junior Deacon of Mount Dora 238.  He continued advancing though the chairs of the Mount Dora Lodge as Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and Served as Worshipful Master in 2008 and received the Past Masters Degree on May 26th 2008. Right Worshipful Smith was appointed to serve as District Deputy Grand Master of the Old 18th, now the 15th Masonic District in 2009 by Most Worshipful Dale Goehrig. Right Worshipful Smith also served as a District Committeeman for Child ID and Perpetual Membership. Right Worshipful Smith had received his 40 and 50 Year Service Awards. He became a Master of the Royal Secret, 32nd Degree in the Valley of Orlando Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite on March 15th 1986 and was invested as a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour on November 3rd 2007. He was the Venerable Master of the Consistory in 2011 and was the Membership Chairman of the Valley of Orlando in 2012. In April of 2018 he became a a dual member of the Valley of Atlanta. Gary was also a Noble of Yaarab Shrine.
